Remote Access Host

Whenever you need to connect to a computer remotely, using your local area network, you could just use the Remote Desktop Connection feature included in most Windows versions. But what if you need to connect to computers remotely, which are on the Internet but are not connected to the local area network? In this situation, you cannot use Remote Desktop Connection, as this feature only works with LAN connections. What's more, this tool doesn't offer the best remote experience possible and it's also a bit slow.

A much better solution for connecting remotely to any computer is to install and use Remote Access Host. This application allows anyone to connect to the computer on which it has been installed by using any web browser. After the program has been installed and launched, the user first needs to create an account on the program's website. Besides that, the user will need to enter a host key which will be used to secure the remote connection and will prevent any unauthorized user from connecting remotely to the machine.

After creating the account, you can invite anyone to connect to your PC remotely, by simply sending them an invitation on their email account. Remote Access Host allows you to customize the text of the email. When the guest clicks on the invitation link, he will be able to connect to your machine remotely by using his own web browser. Still, he will need to have Java Virtual Machine installed in order for the connection to be possible. After the connection is performed successfully, the guest will be able to see your screen and control your mouse and keyboard like if he was standing in front of your computer.
